I plan to buy 1x FTV and 3x lackey if they are under 7-8 tix each one (I think i can wait anyway) then the five new duals will be my next target followed by drain and bazaar, then the rest of the tourney playables and maybe some nostalgia.

I plan to spend about 200euros which is about 250 dollar approximately, maybe more, but i´ll take my time getting them trying to buy low. Currently i have every tourney playable but:

- Orim´s chant (too expensive considering they don´t see much game in tournament nowadays, but once their price go down i will get 4x).

-Vindicate (same reason as the above stated).

Mox Diamond (expensive and only playable in a couple of decks, i plan to buy this once i have bought everything i want from MED3, exodus...).

I will be buying 4x FTV and 4x Mana drain stat. Can't wait to play Lackey, Strip Mine, Tinker and Balance.
Will be nice to get a new infusion of classic cards!

Considering the following approach - not sure I will take it but thought Id throw it out as an option: Dedicate now to the Post-Eternal Split. Ignore FTVE (lackey whilst essential for legacy will be in Saga pencilled for Early 2010).  Ignoring Classic and focussing on Legacy only means no need to drop cash on mana drain, Bazaar, Oath of Druids (Exodus) and the FTV-E.  This option allows for the sale of Demonic Tutor, Vampiric Tutor, Mind's Desire, Earthcraft, Dream Halls, Flash (knockon effect of selling Phyrexian Mauraders etc) (i.e cards banned in legacy).  The Tickets from this sale should be a good kick start towards acquiring the remaining duals and legacy worth cards.
Now I know this option wont suit all and is probably obvious anyway I love classic but this seems attractive from a budget viewpoint.  You can always picked up 4 Bazaar to run dredge in Classic at little cost on the side.

I plan to fund drafters like crazy and possibly play a few myself. This is the 1st set that has enough interesting cards to draft since MED1. I hope to get a couple foil duals and retire in happiness.

Missing out on vintage is not an option for me as there is too much fun to be had, and P9 may be available next year.

Yeah. I also collect both legacy and vintage staples. hoping for the split rather early than late... ;-)

On a second thought all of the exiled cards (baring the Lackey) are restricted. So now I'm considering getting 1-2 of them. The second one just for another player (maybe the girlfriend).

Do you think many people will be selling Lackeys?

On MED3 it's crazy. I need like 15-20 playsets. Seems I'm funding drafters a lot - no time to draft myself...

I'm not buying FTV: Exiled since I don't play the format enough anymore, but if you do want to get it with tickets only there are some people selling it for 40-45 tickets, compared to 34.99.

I bought 2 FTV:E

I sold my existing original 4 lotus petals, mystical tutors and necropotences to Mtgo traders bot.

Then I sold one of my two copies of FTV's: tinker, necro, channel, berserk, skullclamp, top, strip mine, balance and trinisphere to humans for ~40 tickets just posting in classifieds.

I traded and bought an additional 2 gifts, serendibs, lackeys, lotus petals, mystical tutors, and kird apes for ~52 tickets.  I have playsets of all these now (I already had foil original playsets of 3sphere, clamp and tops- didn't have gifts/dibs or apes prior to this)

Trading and buying wasnt nearly as painful as I assumed it would be.  I got it all in like 3 hours, too.

The only thing I feel I might have overpaid for was lackeys.  I paid 10 each for the 2.  I'm listing prices so people can get a general idea what the cards went for on release day if they were curious for some reason.  I love goblin lackey so it was worth it to me! :)

I was going to get a single copy of FTV:E but now I'm not so sure.

I have to be realistic with myself and I'm just not in a position to buy lots of card to play all the Classic decks I'd like to.

I know that if I was to only play one deck for the rest of my life it would be goblins so now I have to consider if trying to pick up 4xLackey would be a better use of my money.

It's made more complicated by the fact that Lackey will be available next year as well.  I should probably wait for the cheaper version but the art on the FTV:E card is just so good.

It's impossible to know for sure but what do you guys think a reasonable price for Lackey is now and what will it plummet to next year?  I know nobody can say for sure so best guess would be helpful.

I know MTGOTraders has it for $7 but as they have none that price is pretty meaningless.

i bought 2x at 11 yesterday and in the 16 rd event goblins w/ a full boat of lackeys went 3-1. the loss was to me with a tezzeret deck. unfortunatly that was the only deck i beat.

I think gobbos are going to be hot, esp. with the casual crowd--I would not be suprised to see Lackey prices go up as soon as everyone sells off there extras cheap in a day or two. Its not worth it for a casual player to buy FTV, and serious classsic players will probly only buy 1 or 2, so I think there will be demand for Lackeys.

Man I have only managed to sell off 3 strip mine and 1 balance so far. I went and got 4 sets thinking it would be easy to sell off the extras and get balance, strip, tinker and 4x lackey for <$40. I hope I have some luck tonight before the classic tourney!

i bought 4x FTV yesterday and managed to sell most of except 2x of the restricted stuff and 4x lackeys for 116 tix. that's like $24 (ie 24 tix for me) for the 12 cards. if i manage to sell the 4 restricted for 24, would break even keeping the cards i realy want. should have kept petals tho.

Maybe worth mentioning but the FTV: Exiled will be off sale in a week time. With some of the cards maybe never to come again to MTGO - Channel, Balance and Strip mine my guess... So whoever still didn't got his, now is the right time to buy them...

A Splash?  Doe that mean things will change or just mean they will appear?  I don't think too much is going to change, but those enemy fetchlands will be used.  5 rares from a new set is still way more than normal

I don't remember Lorwyn making a big splash beyond Thoughtseize and Ponder...

Sower, evoke dudes (mostly in combo of course), Adept, Sprite, Teeg, Thorn...

Wow Lorywn was actually pretty ridic.  A few of those are border-line playables, but all have had a decent legacy/classic/vintage impact.

Scute mob isn't likely to be huge, but I think that stupid new Merfolk 1-drop might be solid.  Also, Discovery is pretty fun.
