The next Exodus Precon Project, sponsored by WoTC, has begun on CQ.

CONTEST RULES DECKLIST SUBMISSION TOOL (You must be logged into the forums)
Tips:
1) You can make a decklist, THEN dump it into the tool. Or you can use the tool to make a decklist. Whichever way you go about it, make sure you have a shorthand decklist in notepad, in case the server logs you out (this can happen frequently on bad days for the server) you won't lose anything
2) Unlike previous contests, this decklist tool is specific for the Precon Project, so you have to enter in only the decklist and not all the other junk. When you go back to the tool, you'll notice that your decklist is loaded, which makes it much easier to go back and edit your decklist.
3) Have fun!
You can post any questions about the contest in this thread.

yeah wow they upped the prizes!
Although I'm not sure why they are giving out a Premium Stronghold Set instead of a Premium Exodus set... |

Yikes. I hope that doesn't mean anyone posting a fifth no-green Exodus deck will be screwing themselves (especially since my submission was UR!). |

Any chance of clarification of colors - Over at MTGOTraders seemingly a WOTC employee has said that deck of more than two colours are allowed for the budget precon.

If you want to submit more than one decklist, unfortunately the only way I had time to set this contest up is to use another login.

No reason to submit anymore decklists. The winning decklist was already submitted!

Congratulations to our winner, KingRitz!
Here is his winning decklist:
1 Ensnaring Bridge
2 Fireslinger 2 Keeper of the Flame 2 Keeper of the Mind 1 Killer Whale 1 Legacy's Allure 2 Mage il-Vec 2 Mana Breach 2 Mana Leak 2 Merfolk Looter 1 Oath of Mages 1 Oath of Scholars 1 Ogre Shaman 2 Propaganda 1 Reckless Ogre 1 Sabretooth Wyvern 1 Seismic Assault 3 Sonic Burst 2 Spellshock 2 Thalkos Scout 2 Wall of Tears 1 Wayward Soul 14 Mountain 11 Island and his notes:
This deck is all about little pokes of payback going here, there, and everywhere. A variety of symmetrical damage effects and painful extra costs combine with equalizers like Oaths and Keepers keep life totals dropping and hand sizes bouncing up and down, and this tricky red-blue deck is perfectly positioned to poke through those last few points of pain.
This deck has something for everyone: Johnny will love the deck most of all, thanks to the countless little combos -- from Mana Breach with Propaganda or Seismic Assault, to Ensnaring Bridge with Ogre Shaman or Thalkos Scout, to the Keepers and Oaths with basically every other card in the deck. Spike will love the power of cards like Mana Leak, Propaganda, and Merfolk Looter, along with the tournament-tested old-school Ensnaring Bridge plus Seismic Assault combo. Timmy will love bashing with a flying Killer Whale. Really, who doesn't love bashing with a flying Killer Whale?
The deck runs a high land count because of its color-intensive spells, but its curve mainly stops at three (five total converted mana costs of four or more), so in the late game the extra lands can feed the many discard outlets and mana sinks while paying the price of Mana Breach.
You've never been happier to pick up a land and take two damage as "punishment" for casting a spell. Poke!
Now it's time to name that deck by submitting your name to EPP_Naming_Contest.
Good Luck!

Wow. I'm happily stunned. I loved my deck and really wanted it to win just because of how fun I think this precon can be to play, but honestly I thought it might be too Johnny-oriented to actually win. Thanks so much, Dangerlinto, ClassicQuarter, and Wizards! Now someone go out there and give it an awesome name!
Trivial side note: I miscounted, and there are actually six, rather than five, cards in the deck with CMC 4+ (3 at 4, and 3 at 5). Edited by KingRitz - 27 Sep 2009 at 4:32pm |
